Women?s Education Aid From Soropotimist
Soroptimist International is an international volunteer organization for enterprise and expert women who work to enhance the lives of ladies and girls, in local communities and throughout the word. Nearly 100,000 Soroptimists in roughly 120 countries and territories contribute time and monetary support to community-based and international projects benefiting women and girls. Clubs in Soroptimist International of the Americas receive numerous awards, such as the Women’s Opportunity Awards, for implementing projects benefiting girls and women looking for education. Soroptimist also offers funds for club projects via the Soroptimist Club Grant. Oral History: A Viable Methodology for 21st Century Educational Administration Research: National Impact _______________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT This article identifies three 21st Century realities that are redefining research in educational administration: 1) the increasing need for relevancy and authenticity in addressing community and school problem solving contexts; 2) the need for a research method that permits the kind of in depth interviewing of knowledgeable individuals with minimal Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight; and 3) a methodology that can be facilitated by emerging technologies. Study: Student Loan Worries Affect New College Students’ Mental Health
Researchers at the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California in Los Angeles say that worries about student loans are having a measurable negative impact on the mental health of 1st-year college students. The newest results, from the fall of 2010, of the long-standing annual study “The American Freshman: National Norms” show that the overall mental health of initial-year students in college has dropped to a 25-year low, prompted in component by concerns about the economy and paying for college.
